For Resort 2014, Issey Miyake advances its innovative point of view with the introduction of the punching technique, a new approach to breathable clothing. This new technique punctures countless tiny holes or vents into the fabric—the result an optical illusion allowing for an airy, yet dynamic statement.
The finish on these punched garments almost resembles a dot print, but with greater color intensity due to the layering of fabric. White and black layers are especially effective for versatility, seen with a pair of chic trousers and a sporty spring coat.
This resort collection is greatly comprised of sportswear that promotes carefree movement. Even the dressier pieces, such as a range of punctured tops in layers of white, gray and black, have a very wearable quality.
