Makeup artist Sammy H. Mourabit transforms Madonna into Marlene Dietrich circa 1930s with the help of Votre Vu products.
Known for her risk-taking costumes and dramatic makeup, Madonna recreated Marlene Dietrich’s look from the 1930s film Morocco for her MDNA Tour premiere. Her suit and top hat made a statement, but it was her makeup that really caught our eye. We asked makeup artist Sammy H. Mourabit for Votre Vu to give us the scoop on her bold beauty look.
Mourabit began by applying moisture rich lotion to the face and neck using Votre Vu Attentive Crème de Jour for Sensitive Skinand Portrait Collar Restorative Neck Crème to create a base for smooth, supple skin. He then mixed Me Deux Nourishing Moisture Tint with Attentive Face Lotion to create an ultra dewy finish.
Marlene Dietrich’s ultra-thin, signature eyebrows are surely the main point of interest. To avoid over plucking, Mourabit used Love Me Duex Concealer to cover stray hairs.
Nothing says old Hollywood glam like ruby red lips, so Mourabit gave Madonna depth by using two shades of French Kiss Moisture Riche Lipsticks. The darker Margaux lined the outer lip, then the lighter Annette filled the inner, for easy dramatic dimension.
Last, but not least, don’t forget to don Dietrich’s seductive, false eyelashes as a final, flirty touch.
