Issey Miyake celebrates the release of their collaborative lamp collection with lighting company Artemide.
To celebrate Issey Miyake’s recent lamp collection collaboration with lighting company Artemide, the Japanese brand threw a lively evening of cocktails and fashion at their SoHo, New York boutique.
The collection featured lamps completely comprised of recyclable material that fold up and lay completely flat. Once opened the lamp transforms into an architectural standing light fixture. All of the distinctive lanterns come in a classic canvas beige and there beautiful formations will surely add a unique charm to any room décor.
The illuminated pieces of art were inspired by the 2010‘ s 132 5. collection, which was comprised of colorful frocks, tops, pants and skirts that that also unfolded from a 2-D dynamic shape. Both the lamps and dresses are a testament to Japanese innovation and the creativity of the house of Issey Miyake.
Several party goers, as well as glossy silver mannequins, donned looks from the 1325 5. collection, which made a stellar style statement. The clothing’s pleasing color composites and gorgeous constructions added to the ambiance of the well-attended event, along with the sophisticated jazz music played by DJ Keiichiro.
